Prettiest Homemade Bread Ever

Sorry to anyone actually checking this blog. I just started it today, so there’s isn’t anything interesting on it…yet. But, I did take this rather nice picture (if I do say so myself) of some bread my husband made a few months ago. He followed the “Almost No-Knead Bread” recipe from the Jan/Feb 2008 issue of Cook’s Illustrated. It still has a few kinks that “knead” to be worked out, namely the burning on the top, bottom, or sometimes both. But it tastes like a nice artisan loaf from a bakery and looks very pretty. And here’s a cute side note: my 2-year-old just looked at this picture and said, “Hey! A hot cross bun!” I don’t know where that came from, but it was very astute.
