DIY Spring Flower Magnets

Make these easy Spring flower magnets

This post was created in partnership with JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores. All opinions are my own.

After months of dreary winter weather, it finally feels like spring is on the way! We’ve had a few days of 60° weather and gorgeous sunshine to break up our usual cloudy gloom, and early blooming flowers like daffodils and forsythia are dotting the countryside with color. The bulbs we planted last fall around our cherry trees are starting to poke up green leaves and tightly furled buds, and even a few grape hyacinths have started to pop. Second only to the return of the sun, I think beautiful, blooming flowers are one of my favorite parts of the spring season. Ranunculus and anemones are some of my favorite flowers, and our ranunculus plants and anemone bulbs are bringing a much-needed burst of brilliant color to our yard right now—golden yellows, deep purples, bright scarlets, and shocking, electric pinks. I can’t wait for peony and sweet pea season to be here in just a few short months, and for roses and dahlias to fill the garden all summer long. I can never get enough flowers!

In the meantime, I’ve brought some of my favorite spring flowers into my office thanks to the gorgeous silk flowers from JOANN. I’m always impressed with how realistic and beautiful their silk flowers look, and I love how their stock changes with the season. Right now, they have beautiful spring and early summer flowers just like you’d find at your local florist. On my latest trip to JOANN, I found amazing faux peonies in shades of pink and coral, bright pink ranunculus, and darling, miniature coral pom pom mums.

After spending a few days brainstorming fun projects to make with my flowers, I decided to use them to make a set of quick and easy DIY Spring Flower Magnets. They were a fun afternoon project, and my magnet board has never looked better! They add the perfect beautiful, botanical touch to my office along with some eye-catching color, and they’re so easy to make, that I can switch them out for a set of summer flowers, fall flowers, or winter flowers as the season warrants.

These cute flower magnets would be a great rainy day project or something fun to work on at a friends crafting night. With a grown-up’s help and supervision, they’d even be a fun weekend project for kids as well. You can pick whatever color flowers you want to match your office, kitchen, or bedroom decor, and they require just a few materials and less than an hour of time. I’m so happy with how mine turned out, and can’t wait to find more photos, postcards, and inspirational quotes to hang up with them. They make the corner of my office look happy, cheerful, and ready for Spring.

    1. Hi Tammy. I’m so sorry the link is broken. I’ve also tried to find the new location of the post without any luck. I’ll keep searching and will update the link if I can find it.

  2. Faker. It doesn’t say how to make it and the link is just the materials. JOANN isn’t THAT amazing, as you keep saying it is. Extremely dissapointed. I ACTUALLY wanted to make these, you just HAD to tease me with this. F🍎c you. (* ̄︿ ̄)╚(•⌂•)╝

  3. you are a awful person. Like tammy, I couldn’t find the link!!!! how dare you advertise this and it not show up. plus, you never, ever said it would be on the Joann’s website! If I were really mad about this, I would probley sue!

    1. Hey there. It looks like JoAnn Fabrics has removed the post from their site, or moved it somewhere that I can’t find it. There’s really nothing I can do about that. But the project is fairly easy to do. You cut the heads off silk flowers and hot glue them to heavy duty magnets. Best of luck.
