Sweet Melissa Sundays: Orange Blueberry Muffins with Pecan Crumble

A piece of advice: if you’re ever tempted to leave the crumble topping off of something to make it healthier, don’t do it! The body of these orange blueberry muffins was good, but not extraordinary in any way. The crumble topping, however, made them pretty much the best muffins I’ve ever had! I ate, let’s just say, a lot of them. I might start putting pecan crumble on everything I make, including lasagna and tacos. Just cuz.

Many thanks to Chaya, this week’s Sweet Melissa Sundays hostess. You can get the recipe for these exquisite muffins on her blog, My Sweet and Savory.

  1. Yes! The crumble did make these worth the calories and fat! Your muffin looks perfect! I’m glad I’m not the only one who ate…more than one!

  2. So funny. I felt exactly the same about these muffins and the crumble! I too think pretty much everything could be improved upon by some pecan crumble!

  3. Haha too funny! I didn’t actually try one of the muffins this week, but I remember when we made the pear cranberry muffins with the gingersnap crumble I was tempted to just eat the crumble off of the top of all the muffins šŸ™‚ Love your photo!

  4. Haha, Melissa, you’re too cute! I’m glad you loved the crumble topping so much. That’s actually the only part of the recipe I followed (I went a different route with my blueberry muffin base), but I agree, it’s truly the star component! šŸ™‚ Your muffins look gorgeous, by the way!

Hope you’re doing well and having a great start to your week! Miss hearing from you!

  5. We, too, loved the crumble. Seems to be a common theme. Love the picture. It looks like a muffin you’d get from a bakery!
