Sweet Melissa Sunday Favorites

Almost two and a half years ago, I stumbled across a brand new baking group getting ready to bake its way through The Sweet Melissa Baking Book by Melissa Murphy.  I had just gotten that very cookbook for Christmas and thought, “Why not?!”  And while I haven’t baked every recipe, I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time with Sweet Melissa Sundays, and found some amazing recipes along the way.  Here are my Sweet Melissa Sundays Top 10…plus a few extras because I couldn’t make up my mind!

  1. Oh. My. It’s a good thing I have a school bake sale to bake for, or there would be many, many treats sitting around the counter after looking at all those. Now I’m off to make some brownies…

  2. Great top 15! I really wanted a top 15 too but forced myself to make it a top 10. We share 3 favorites (banana apple bread, turnovers, and black bottom brownies). Looking at your list, I think I’ll have to make the Granola as well as that Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake (it looks so creamy!!!).

Btw, if you’re looking for a new club to join, I’m hosting a club called ABC (Avid Baker’s Challenge), where each year, we bake from a different book. This year we’re wrapping up baking from Flo Braker’s “Baking for all Occasions”. In 2012, we’ll be baking from The Weekend Baker by Abby Dodge. It’s a monthly baking club. Please feel free to join or email me with any questions you may have. For more info on ABC, check out AvidBakersChallenge.blogspot.com. I hope you can join us!

  3. Great list Melissa! I missed making a few on your list that I definitely want to try…like the lemon icebox cake and the apple turnovers. Also, I’ve noticed the apple banana bread has made several of the top recipe lists, so I might have to try this too.

  4. What a great list! We have a few favorites in common, and many of your other favorites were ones I liked a lot but that didn’t quite make my top 10. I am looking forward to making the apple turnovers again this fall 🙂

  5. Hey Melissa, totally enjoying looking at your recipes, thanks so much! I can’t wait to try them, I’m needing some inspiration! Hope you guys are all well! x
