Triple Berry Shortcakes with Homemade Vanilla Biscuits

Triple berry shortcakes with homemade vanilla biscuits

It’s finally starting to look and feel like summer here, and I have the perfect summer dessert to share with you guys—Triple Berry Shortcakes with Homemade Vanilla Biscuits. Strawberry shortcake is such a classic summertime treat. It really is a dessert you can serve all summer long, whether you need something for a Sunday night family dinner or a weekend BBQ with friends. This particular version is especially appropriate for summer holidays like Memorial Day, Flag Day, and the 4th of July thanks to the addition of blueberries and raspberries. With a few cute red, white, and blue decorations added, they look positively patriotic! We aren’t picky when it comes to the cake part of strawberry shortcake. We like it with angel food cake, plain yellow cake, pound cake, and have even been known to use Twinkies! But our favorite way to eat strawberry shortcake is on these yummy, homemade vanilla biscuits. They are really easy to make, and taste so good topped with fresh berries and sweet whipped cream. You can find the recipe HERE on the Oriental Trading Company blog. For more red, white, and blue dessert ideas, try these berry-topped sugar cookie bars, these mini lemon-berry trifles, or these no-bake berry cheesecakes. And if you want to try other versions of strawberry shortcake, be sure to check out this strawberry shortcake with creme anglaise.
