Gold Dipped Votives and Vases

For our pre-Valentine’s dinner a few weekends ago, I wanted to really glitz up our dining room table. Inspired by all of the gold spray painting by Say Yes to Hoboken‘s Liz Stanley, I decided to turn some otherwise boring vases and votives into beautiful, gold-accented centerpieces.

I started by taking cheap, craft store vases and votives, wrapping the ends I didn’t want painted in blank newsprint, and taping off the edges. Then I just dragged them into the backyard, set them on a plastic trash bag, and sprayed away. I made sure to spray them the day before the dinner party so they wouldn’t be fume-y or burst into flames!
