Summering

easy, no-churn lemon ice cream from Lulu the Baker

I didn’t have any intention of taking a blogging hiatus this summer, I really didn’t. But here’s the thing. I’ve discovered that I can’t be the best blogger I can be and the best mom I can be at the same time. I think that’s true for most things in life; as good as we might be at multitasking, we simply can’t give 100% to two things at once—“Man cannot serve two masters,” and all that. During the school year, it’s easier to find time to get work done while the kids are at school, but it’s summer vacation and everyone is home for the next few months. And it’s busy and fun and wonderful. And because I’m really enjoying it and want life to stay that way for a while, I’m going to loosen the reins just a tad on blogging this summer and not worry too much about getting posts done on any kind of schedule. That doesn’t mean I won’t have any posts for you. I’ve been working on lots of fun things that I’m excited to share with you: delicious recipes, easy projects, menu ideas, and more. I’m just going to make having fun with my family a priority this summer, and I’ll leave blogging to the in-between times.

If you want to see what I’m working on between blog posts, you can follow along on Instagram or Snapchat, which I’m still getting the hang of. My handle on both is luluthebaker, and I’d love to see you there!

  1. Good for you for putting your family first! Enjoy your summer – and your little ones. The time flies by.

  2. I’m so glad to hear you’re taking time with your family! It’s so true that you can’t give multiple things you’re all, and the summer is the perfect time to step away from the blog and enjoy those long event filled days and nights <3 Enjoy!
