In My Kitchen with Amber Kemp-Gerstel

“I’m always looking for cute ways to package up homemade treats and handcrafted gifts. Of all the options out there, wooden berry baskets are my all-time favorite. They are available in tons of sizes and stack up neatly. During the holiday season, I packaged up homemade mini loaves in these baskets and decorated each one with ribbons and tags. Now that springtime in on the horizon, I’ll be using these to assemble cute Easter baskets. Come visit me for today’s post and I’ll show you exactly how I’ll be dressing these up for spring.”

Amber is the crafty girl behind Damask Love. She has a serious passion for paper and loves developing content that engages crafters at every level of expertise. Amber has collaborated with top brands including Martha Stewart, Fiskars and Home Depot and her creations have been featured by BuzzFeed, HuffingtonPost, Martha Stewart Living and Apartment Therapy.

I’ve wanted since the beginning of this series to say a little something about each of the people I feature, because they’re all so wonderful and so unbelievably generous and talented. I just couldn’t quite figure out how to work it into the layout of the post–a silly logistical problem. I’m actually going to edit all of my previous posts to add a little something special about each person. I met Amber online at the end of 2012 when she organized a project gathering craft supplies from all over the country to send to the students who survived the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy–something very close to my heart. We met in real life at Alt Summit 2013, and she’s every bit as exuberant and full of life in person as she seems on her amazing blog. She is beautiful inside and out, and it is a pleasure to be her friend. xoxo
