navy bedroom inspiration photo from Emily Henderson
We’ve ignored our bedroom for years. Years! Our furniture is decent, but that’s honestly as far as the decorating in the master bedroom goes. There is nothing hanging on the walls, the pillows are all mismatched, and the bed is covered in a hideous brown and orange quilt that I accidentally spent a small fortune on at a charity auction a few years ago and feel compelled to use. But there is hope on the horizon, for I am in love with the color navy. We aren’t going to paint our walls dark blue (although it really does look spectacular in the photos I see), but we have a master plan involving fluffy white bedding, framed artwork, and lots of beautiful midnight sky-colored accents. And I actually bought a navy blue throw pillow this week, so we are taking baby steps in the right direction. We use navy accents in our room! Our room is fairly small so I tried to keep it as bright as possible with minimal decor. Green is my husband’s favorite color so that was brought in as well. I’m looking forward to seeing your end result!

Gorgeous bedroom, Megan! Yes, ours isn’t huge either, so I think we’ll stick to white bedding with navy throw pillows and maybe some pretty navy artwork on the walls. Fingers crossed!
I love your idea of starting with whites first, adding little touches of the navy, that way you don’t start out with an overwhelming strong color, and wondering what to add next…
Thanks, Suzanne! I hope I will actually do it sooner rather than later and have a beautiful bedroom to enjoy!
I love navy and yellow/gold!
Such a pretty color combo!
I too, absolutely love the color, Navy blue, in my clothing, home decor, everywhere! I tried to eliminate at least most of the blue in my house after many years, but I always go back to this color scheme..,
It is so soothing, calm and beautiful,
And your room is very much all of that!
I love how you are starting with the accents or accessories, first in this room!
Beautiful !
Great post!!! So beautiful! LOVE the navy wall and your white, grey & gold accents! The trinket box with the succulent is my fave piece!!
