We are unusually ahead of schedule this year with Mother’s Day gifts. We have presents for Grammy, Nana, and Momo bought and paid for; all that’s left is a little wrapping paper and some ribbon. But if you’re like I usually am, and you need some easy, last-minute gifts for the mom’s, grandma’s, and generally nurturing women in your life, here are a few we’ve tried and liked!
1. Cherry Thumbprints–A sweet, fruity center nestled inside a buttery shortbread cookie, and the kids love poking their thumbs in the dough!
2. Sour Cherry & Almond Biscotti–A crunchy vanilla cookie studded with nutty almonds and tart, dried cherries.
3. Sour Cherry Oatmeal Cookies with Pistachios, seen on Zupas, from Stephanie of stephmodo–These spicy oatmeal cookies are just plain delicious. I literally could not stop eating them! {photo from zupas.com}
4. Freezer Paper Stencil Totes–You can never really have too many tote bags, can you? Let your kids pick the design and help fill in the stencil with fabric paint, then fill the bag with goodies for Grandma!
5. Framed Hearts & Handprints–We made these 3 years ago, and they are still a most beloved gift.
6. Watercolor Mother’s Day Card Printable, seen on Hellobee, from Danyelle of dandee–If your kids are like mine, they never get tired of painting. Put all that artistic energy to good use! {photo from hellobee.com}
7. Lemon Scrub, seen on Momtastic, from Liz of Say Yes to Hoboken–Makes your hands feel so silky, and all of the ingredients can be found at the grocery store! {photo from momtastic.com}
8. Bath Salts, seen on Oh My! Handmade Goodness, from April of Anointment Natural Skin Care–I had the 12 and 13 year-old girls from church over last night to make some presents for their moms for Mother’s Day, and these beautiful and easy bath salts were by far my favorite thing we worked on.
9. Homemade Lip Balm from Martha Stewart–I’ve made dozens of tubes with the lip balm recipe, and it is so dreamy! {photo from marthastewart.com}
