Happy New Year, everybody! I know it’s already January 11th, but this is my first post of the new year, so I think the belated greeting is still appropriate. I decided to take a few weeks off for the holidays, but then I realized toward the end of December that I didn’t have anything planned for January, so the hiatus lasted a little longer.
Last year was a really interesting one for me. I started off 2015 with the goal to get my book proposal accepted by a publisher, and I intentionally said no to some exciting opportunities because I knew that if I didn’t, I’d never get that book done. And then my book proposal DID get accepted by a publisher, and the real work started. I’ll write more sometime about the whole book-writing process, which is such a very long road, but it was so much more work than I anticipated. It wasn’t unpleasant or anything–it was, for the most part, quite fun–but lots of work is still lots of work, even if you’re enjoying it. That old adage, “Find something you love to do, and you’ll never work a day in your life,” is utter hogwash, just so you know! And with a new baby, a new house, and all of the normal surprises life throws at you now and then, the year just filledĀ up, and this here blog didn’t see quite as much attention from me as it once did.
But I’m recommitting to my blog this year. I miss it. I miss making things and writing things and being in this space. It might take a bit of time to get back into my old rhythm, but I’m excited about all of the possibilities.
Before we jump into new posts this year, here are the top ten posts of 2015…
1. Apples N’ Oats Breakfast Smoothie
2. Painted Heart Sugar Cookies
5. Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies
8.Ā How To Make a Giant Balloon Arch
That breakfast smoothie looks amazing! I just pinned it so I can try it soon š
It’s a good one!
